THE CARBINE
CLUB OF TOKYO
"Celebrating sport and good fellowship"
THE SPIRIT OF THE CARBINE CLUB
Members of the Carbine Club are bonded by a couple of simple but very significant affections for sport and for good fellowship.
Those sentiments were the essence of its foundation in 1961, and the spread of its associated clubs around Australia and internationally.
The club's name honours a racehorse, one of the greatest and bravest ever known. But the Spirit of the Carbine Club extends far beyond the boundaries of the turf, and even of championship. It is a spirit, which celebrates sporting endeavour ... and thus recognises that winning is important, but grace and courage also matter.
CARBINE CLUB OF TOKYO
Carbine Club of Tokyo was conceived by founding members in 2017 with a successful 'concept test' held to celebrate the Wallabies vs Japan rugby match in Yokohama. In June 2018 the Tokyo club was officially recognised as a sister Carbine club, at a ceremony attended by Club President Graham Halbish. In March of 2021 the Carbine Club of Tokyo became an official NPO registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Since the clubs founding have held a number of enjoyable, well attended events and raised over 6 million yen for charities such as NADIA, ChildFund:Pass it Back, Paralympics Australia & YouMeWe.
Carbine Club of Tokyo events are open to all 'good sports'!
